Summer Basketball

One thing that has kept us busy this summer has been YMCA basketball.  Ryley played and Ryan coached her 5 & 6 year old co-ed team.  The kids chose to call their team the "Orange Crush" to go with their teal and orange uniforms.  As you'll see below, the majority of the uniform is teal, but there just aren't any cool team names that go with teal.

At the first of the season, we were forced to hold practices outside at the elementary school around the corner from our house because the Y doesn't provide a practice gym for the summer and we were having trouble finding an indoor facility we could use.  Thankfully, a few weeks into the season Ryan located a great gym that was nearby and reasonably priced - score!

Here are some pics of one of our indoor practices.  As you can see, Ryan worked them hard - I think Ryley was wishing they were back outside so he would take it a little easier on them!

But, all their hard work paid off and the Orange Crush had a great season.  During the first game, Ryley actually scored her first basket ever in a game!  I  was so very proud!
