Wow - so much has happened since I last posted! I had a birthday - woo hoo made it another year - always positive! We have a contract to sell our house and are set to close in 26 days and be out 3 days after that - YIKES! And as of now we don't know where we're going to live once we move out....yep, life is always exciting around here!
So, back to the birthday celebration. On my actual birthday, I had to spend the day at work sitting in an all day staff meeting - BOO! But I survived and was nicely rewarded with a great night out with Ryan. We went to a yummy italian restaurant called Italianni's (I know - very creative name for an Italian restaurant!) all by ourselves. Since my birthday fell on the Friday before Valentine's Day, restaurants were of course busy and some were having their special Valentine's menus and such. The place we went had a great 4-course meal so we decided to splurge and having a very special dinner. Add some wine, candlelight, and good conversation with my sweet hubby and you have a terrific evening out. And in true Ryan and Tessa style, we capped off the romantic dinner with a trip to Target for some grocery shopping. This is the kind of thing we've done for years - the night we got engaged, we ended up having to take a trip to Wal-Mart later that evening to pick up windshield wiper blades for my Honda Civic. Hey, that's just how we roll!
And on to even more exciting news than my turning another year older - we have a contract on our house!!!! After lowering the price last Monday, this past Friday we received a "blind" offer on the house. Yes, the people put in an offer and they had not yet even seen the property! On Saturday, they were able to come by and see it, and apparently they fell in love. The really cool part is this couple loved the house for the same reason we loved it when we looked at it originally - the perfect space for a baby grand piano. They have one, too, so this just feels like it was meant to be! Now we just have to wait for approval on their financing, the inspection and appraisal. If all goes well, we'll be out of this house in less than a month. I truly can't believe it!
So, this contract means we have to find another place to live. This weekend we started the search and our wonderful realtor has been taking us to all kinds of possible homes. We haven't found "the one" yet, but I know we will. In fact, some of the ones we are planning to see tomorrow look like they could be great prospects. Maybe one of them will really be "the one"....stay tuned!
Love the trip to Target--I don't think we've ever had a date night that didn't end to a quick trip to Kroger/Target/Home Depot. Some of our favorite date nights are browsing in Barnes & Noble for about an hour, grabbing dinner, and finishing off at Kroger! Happy birthday!
